Making a Memorable Home

At Oza Sabbeth we both design and build homes. We think of the home as an instrument of shelter. We believe that the simple act of walking through a well-designed home, as it responds to the passing day and perennial seasons, should be a worthy experience in and of itself. For us, the home is an ambient environment that suffuses our lives with the essential elements for balancing and recharging.

Nilay Oza AIA

Nilay finds creative expression in the many contrasts and contradictions of his field. He is an architect who finds inspiration as a builder. He is a consummate insider who has worked for fifteen years on the East End, yet brings an outsider's perspective due to his upbringing in India.

Along with professional work, Nilay believes in the civic benefit of healthy communities. Among other pro-bono ventures, to further this belief, he has served on the board of the American Institute of Architects, Peconic Chapter, for the past four years, serving as the president in 2021.

Nilay is a LEED-accredited Licensed Architect with a Master's Degree in Architecture from MIT. Nilay lives with his wife and two young daughters in Sag Harbor.

Peter Sabbeth

Peter was a fine art painter in the mid 90’s when he first started designing and building loft spaces in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood. In 2008, Peter moved east and founded Modern Green Home, where he helped transform the “traditional” Hamptons building industry through dozens of modern, sustainable projects. In 2014, Peter met Nilay, and their common passion for both design and construction led to a fast friendship and ultimately partnership in 2015

Peter is a graduate of Tufts University, a 9-year member of the US Green Building Council, Skateboard Designer, trans-oceanic sailor, tea crafter, and father of two boys. He lives in Sag Harbor.
